Join the TSO String Quintet for a magical introduction to string family. Listeners will be taken through the contrasts of high/low, slow/fast, and major/minor while learning all of the ins and outs of what make the string family truly unique. The music featured in this concert will be a balance between popular pieces of the classical era and children’s tunes that the whole family will enjoy.
The program is short (about 45 minutes in length), with opportunity for interaction, questions and answers, and incorporating physical responses like dancing and marching. At one point, the children will even be invited up onto the stage to sit around the musicians as they play. Parents are invited to show up an hour early -- 1:30 p.m. -- for a musical instrument "petting zoo," in which children will have the opportunity to touch, hold, and try out musical instruments for themselves.
