Kitsap Live Steamers is a group of scale outdoor railroad enthusiasts operating a non-profit, 7½- inch gauge railroad at South Kitsap Regional Park.
Group members provide train rides to visitors by donation on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, April through October, weather permitting. Trains depart from the depot near the Jackson Avenue playfield and traverse about 4000 feet of ground level railroad track, one trestle and one bridge.
Visitors are also welcome to observe the preparation of live steam locomotives owned and operated by our club members. These locomotives are not toys; they are miniature steam locomotives that function exactly as their prototypes did in the 19th and 20th centuries. Ask at the depot for a tour of the Kitsap Live Steamers steaming bays and yard area. Please note that for safety, tours are limited to six visitors at a time and must be escorted by a Kitsap Live Steamers member.
