Washington State Jewish Historical Society and Book-It Repertory Theatre are proud to present "In the Land of Rain & Salmon, Jewish Voices of the Northwest: 1880-1920," a theatrical adaptation of "Family of Strangers, Building A Jewish Community In Washington State" and other stories. This original theater production brings to life some of the formative Washington state Jewish narratives in the book by Molly Cone, Howard Droker, and Jacqueline Williams, as well as stories and oral histories preserved in the Washington State Jewish Archives, housed at the University of Washington Libraries Special Collections. The script follows the challenges and triumphs of Jewish families that arrived between 1880 and 1920 and played a significant role in the cultural, civic, and commercial development of Washington state.
