Dia de los Muertos is a Latin American holiday honoring the dead with food, drink, parties, and activities. It is a time to commemorate the dead and celebrate their lives with family and friends. Join us at the Phinney Center Community Plaza at 4 pm for our neighborhood procession and festival in the Blue Building. Watch CeAtl Tonalli Aztec Dancers lead the procession A traditional altar dedication by Raul Sanchez A performance by students from the PNA's Spanish Preschool Co-op Spanish music for children by Marco Cortes Mexican folk dance by Bailadores de Bronce Win...a raffle to benefit the Spanish Preschool Co-op Decorate...sugar skulls, picture frames and paper flowers Eat Pan de Muerto (Bread of the Dead) Tacos and tamales from El Sabroso Drink...Mexican hot chocolate Schedule: 4:00 pm – Festival opens: meet in Community Plaza for procession led by CeAtl Tonalli Aztec Dancers 4:45 pm - Community altar in the Blue Building dedicated by Raul Sanchez 5:15 pm – Performance by PCPE Spanish Preschool Co-op students 5:30 pm - Spanish children's music by Marco Cortes 6:15 pm - Mexican folk dance by Bailadores de Bronce Community Altar Bring your personal photos, notes, and remembrances for the community altar. (Items will be available for pick up at the Phinney Center until Friday, November 20.)
