When's the last time you had a picnic dinner in a treehouse? Wind your way through forest, ravine, pond and marsh for a mid-summer's eve exploration in our beautiful 255 acre wood. We're celebrating summer at this special event with our Investigation Station, and our friendly “Ask the Naturalist” panel of expert educators can’t wait to see what natural treasure you bring from home. After a good climb on our Canopy Tower, and your picnic dinner, treat yourself and the family to banana slug sundae splits! Joyfully made in-house and scrumdiddlyumptious with vanilla ice cream, a chocolate dipped banana shaped like a slug, topped with seasonal fruit and a sprig of mint. Registration is free at www.islandwood.org/events and you may pre-order your banana slug sundaes or purchase them when you arrive. IslandWood is a magic spot tucked away on the island’s sunny south end – and we look forward to meeting neighbors near and far.
