Book talk and signing with Nick K. Adams, author of My Dear Wife and Children - Civil War Letters from a 2nd Minnesota Volunteer. Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00 pm Wheelock Branch, Tacoma Public Library 3722 North 26th Street Nick Adams, a life-long student of the American Civil War and active Civil War Re-enactor, read selections from his newly released My Dear Wife and Children: Civil War Letters from a 2nd Minnesota Volunteer. The one hundred letters record in vivid detail the thoughts, emotions, and experiences of a common soldier, Corp. Descriptions of battle scenes, daily life in camp, and encounters with slaves and slavers, fill the letters, along with heartfelt expressions of his deep sense of separation from home and family.
