Woof Woof Costume Walk
Cost$15 per dog; $5 for second dog
Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume and enjoy a beautiful walk at Pierce County Parks and Recreation's Woof Woof Walk on Saturday, Oct.22 at Spanaway Park in the Parkland/Spanaway vicinity. Join the Pierce County K-9 for either the 1.5-mile or 3-mile route. Both routes are on paved trails that provide a flat, easy walk suitable for families and people of all abilities. Prizes will be awarded in the canine costume contest. Plus registered participants will be entered into our 'ruffle drawing.' $10 t-shirts will be available as long as supplies last. Start & Finish 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. Participants and their dogs will meet in the first parking lot of Spanaway Park to check-in and/or register. Please enter the costume contest during check-in / registration. 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. The walk will begin and end on the trail at the entrance to Spanaway Park. Entertainment & Pictures From 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., we will have vendors and pictures, as well as information on pets and water quality courtesy of the Pierce County Water Program Division. A complimentary bandanna will also be awarded to each dog while supplies last. Food & Blanket Donation In addition to the walk, we will be accepting food and blanket donations for the local shelters. Those donating will receive an additional 'ruffle ticket' to enter the drawing. Proceeds Proceeds benefit Pierce County Parks and Recreation's youth programs. Rules of Participation Dogs should be current in vaccinations No dogs under six months of age No female dogs in heat No aggressive dogs No more than two dogs per registration / participant Minors must be accompanied by an adult (18 or older) Keep your dog(s) on a seven foot or shorter leash at all times Clean up after your dog(s), bags will be provided Bring your dog(s) only if he or she is well socialized Walk the course only if you and your pet are in adequate physical condition Water will be provided for both dogs and people along the course
