Washington Contemporary Ballet celebrates the holiday season with our annual production of The Nutcracker. This full-length classical presentation of a family holiday favorite includes Tchaikovsky's memorable score and choreography by Kay Englert and Nathan Cook.
The magical Herr Drosselmeyer arrives at Clara's house with presents, dancing dolls, and a nutcracker. In her dreams, Clara and her Nutcracker battle the Mouse Queen and an army of mice. They arrive in the Land of Snow amongst a blizzard of dancing snowflakes. In the Kingdom of Sweets, Clara and her Prince are entertained as the dancing candies come to life.
You won't want to miss Washington Contemporary Ballet's presentation with beautiful dancing, exquisite costumes, and colorful characters in this family holiday tradition.

Washington Contemporary Ballet is more than a Ballet School. We offer classes in many forms of dance to bring new movement and instruction to our students. There are classes for students as young as three as well as classes for Adults. Whether you are new to dance or have years of experience, you are sure to find a fun and rewarding class at WCB!
As a performing arts organization, we produce a full season of concerts and programs including our spectacular, full-length December performance, The Nutcracker. Spring brings our Repertory Concert and we end the year with the All School Recital in June.
Throughout the year WCB hosts intimate In-House performances, Flamenco events, a Masquerade Party, and various Fun!raising activities.
