Anxiety in Children, Tweens and Teens: What Parents and Guardians Need to Know

Calendar/Event Details

According to the National Institute for Mental Health, an estimated 31.9% of adolescents have an anxiety disorder. However, the median age of onset is age 6. Anxiety can negatively influence a child's developing sense of self, impede academic growth and impact relationships.

In this presentation, review the symptoms of anxiety disorders, consider what causes and contributes to anxiety in young people, and discuss the dangers with waiting for kids to "outgrow" it.

Treatment options, strategies and suggestions will be shared.
