BIMA’s Virtual Dia de los Muertos Celebration and In-Person Ofrenda Exhibit

Calendar/Event Details

Join us online Nov. 2 at 6:30 p.m. for a virtual community gathering to mark the start of BIMA’s Día de los Muertos weeklong appreciation, November 2-8. Come together on Zoom to learn about this cultural celebration with words from Juan Rovalo, Araceli Cruz, and Alice Mendoza and to remember loved ones who have passed.

The traditional ofrenda (or altar), the centerpiece of the Dia de los Muertos celebration which brings to life the memories of those who have passed away, and the ornate and colorful pair of quilts created by artist Araceli Cruz returns to BIMA for this year’s celebration. The ofrenda exhibit will be on display at the museum Nov. 2-8
