DESCRIPTION:As the sun starts to come out again\, Basilica Bio is going outside! On April 11\, from 1–4 p.m.\, join us at Beacon Food Forest for Earth Month Jam. Together\, we will celebrate our earth\, food and soil.  \n​Our afternoon will be soundtracked by the amazing local band Fairweather Foes. Through a mix of interactive activities\, live music and accessible educational materials\, we’ll build community awareness around food justice\, soil health and natural resource management. Stay tuned to hear who’s coming: King County Public Health\, Tilth Alliance\, Rainier Beach Action Coalition\, King Conservation District and more!  \n​Together\, we will: \n​-Develop community goals for increasing food accessibility \n​-Learn about local food systems and seasonal produce \n​-Understand the importance of soil health \n​-Connect with community organizations \n​-Celebrate our earth through song\, art\, and conversation \n​Featured activities: \n​ -Plant pot painting \n​-Seed ball creating \n​-Seasonal produce calendar designing \n​-Local food systems mapping \n​-Practical takeaways for community-based food justice
