Join us once again at our Annual Fashion in the Forest Bainbridge Show! Check out the creative genius of our artists and models as they display creations that are entirely made from secondhand materials.
The fun starts on our Runway at 1:00 PM. This portion of the afternoon will feature a more traditional runway show in which models will walk on the stage set to music in our Great Hall to showcase the amazing efforts and artistry of this year’s incredible designers.
We hope you join us to get inspired for how to re-use old clothing and make new outfits from old clothing or reclaimed materials. Tablecloths are transformed into evening gowns, kitchen curtains become ruffles, and beaded vests are adorned with discarded corks… our “runway” is one of a kind!
At 2:30 PM models and designers will be stationed on the trails for guests to explore and get a closer look at their favorite runway looks. During your rambles on the trails, you will encounter local models of all ages and talented designers presenting creative garb that spans functional to funky. As a bonus, all of IslandWood’s trail systems will be open at this time for your self-guided exploration. Both treehouses will be open for your visit, too! We’ll have maps for you so you can find your way around and will be happy to suggest a route that is suitable for your family and abilities. You can visit with the models, ask questions, or just enjoy the campus at your leisure. The Forest Canopy Tower will be closed during this event.
You can explore our beautiful 250-acre wood until 5:00 PM.
