Listen to classic or fractured fairy tales and apply STEM skills to re-create the story's outcome! We have suggested materials for each session. You are welcome to gather additional recyclables to aid in your creation.
August 13: Goldilocks and the 3 Bears - Can you build a chair that will hold Goldilocks without breaking?
Suggested materials: toilet paper rolls, paper or card stock, masking tape or painters tape, aluminum foil, scissors, pennies or a rock to be Goldilocks
August 20: The Three Little Pigs - Can you build houses from straw, sticks and bricks? Which will be the strongest?
Suggested materials: straws, tape, scissors, toothpicks, marshmallows, LEGO bricks of various sizes
August 27: Rapunzel - Can you design a slide or a ladder for Rapunzel to use to escape the tower?
Suggested materials: paper towel or toilet paper rolls (for slide), straws, popsicle sticks, toothpicks, marshmallows (ladder), masking tape or painters tape, scissors, optional: small paper cup, string and pennies to test ladder
