KPH & The Canary Collective Benefit Concert

Calendar/Event Details

KPH & The Canary Collective is releasing an album in February called "The Canary Collective: Vol 1"

Few artists today articulate their journey of overcoming discrimination with the profoundly healing voice of disabled activist KPH. Her years spent fighting for social justice as an organizer before becoming disabled uniquely positioned her to marry the worlds of art and activism, through her gift for storytelling and a deft touch for radically inclusive organizing.

She has crafted a record celebrating sensitive canaries in the proverbial coal mine: people with chronic illness who are struggling to afford healthcare and safe water, food, air, and housing. The album features the voices of canaries such as Luz Elena Mendoza of Y La Bamba as well as Nataly Dawn of Pomplamoose. The album release show will be held at Fremont Abbey in Seattle on Saturday February 8th from 6:30-9:30pm.
