Maple Valley Hometown Holidays- Reinvented 2020

Calendar/Event Details

Virtual Tree Lighting Thursday, Dec 3 and Wilderness Lighted Drive Dec 18, 19, 20

Although we can not offer our usual in-person large community event, we are excited to offer two alternate events in 2020 that we hope will bring the same feelings of the season and community involvement for all of our residents to enjoy while being mindful of our current pandemic health protocols.

December 3rd, Thursday - 6:15pm - Virtual Tree Lighting on Facebook Live
Maple Valley Hometown Holidays virtual tree lighting will be held on the first Thursday of December from 6:15-6:45pm. The Facebook Live official tree lighting ceremony and Mayor’s welcome will kick off the season and your holiday festivities at 6:15pm. We will light the holiday tree at 4 corners, ring in the season with some holiday music and keep an eye open for an address from a special guest! The City will not be inviting the public to join the lighting in person this year, this is strictly a virtual event, but the holiday lights will light up the Hwy 169 corridor and the Maple Valley Holiday Tree through the New Year for all to enjoy.

 December 18th Fri, 19th Sat, & 20th Sun - 6:00-8:00pm - Hometown Holidays Wilderness Lights Drive
In keeping within our goal to engage the community, the City will offer the Hometown Holidays Wilderness Lights Drive on December 18, 19 and 20, 2020.  This event will offer community groups the opportunity to set up a lighted display within the Lake Wilderness Park parking lots at NO FEE.  The application for community group involvement is linked below with a deadline of December 15th.  Between 25-30 lighted displays will be offered for a Drive-Thru Hometown Holiday Wilderness Lights Event.  This is a free experience to our community on the dates and times listed.  This event will not be open to In-person/walking visits.

We are excited to offer these "reinvented" events to our community during these tumultuous times and the City of Maple Valley Staff and Council wishes all a Very Happy Holiday Season!
