The Nrityagram Dance Ensemble, India’s foremost Odissi dance company, invites audiences to journey across time to witness KHANKANĀ, the sound of dancing feet. Performing with live musical accompaniment, and featuring highly acclaimed pieces created over the last three decades by choreographer and internationally renowned Odissi artist Surupa Sen, Nrityagram showcases Sen’s unique sensibility of thought and movement. Performed as far back as 200 BC as a sacred ritual dedicated to the gods, Odissi speaks of love and union, between human and divine, transporting viewers to enchanting worlds of magic and spirituality.
