Parkour for All Ages

Calendar/Event Details

Parkour and the Art of Movement is the ability to move fluidly through your environment from one place to another. In this class, children and adults will safely learn to progress through fundamental parkour movements such as jumping, vaulting, climbing, swinging, balancing, and rolling. The movements build strength, balance, and coordination. Participants will acquire the ability to engage with their environment while overcoming obstacles, both physically and mentally. Our program is based on the 5 pillars of Social Emotional Learning (SEL), which are self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Practicing parkour skills fosters creativity and boosts confidence. Accomplishing challenges that seemed impossible at one point will give you and your child the confidence to achieve whatever you set your mind to.

Free community classes are held every Sunday from 10-11am for 3-5 year olds,11:15-12:45pm and1-2:30pm for 6-10 year olds and 3-4:30pm for all ages.

Locations vary, check www.kongacademy.org for details. Class is donation based and 50% of all proceeds goes back into the community (scholarships for parkour programs and donations to YouthCare, to support homeless youth in Seattle). Suggested donation $10/$20 per class. Pay what you wish! Please register on Eventbrite and sign a waiver before class.
