SUMMARY:‘Peter and the Wolf’: Free Family Concert
DESCRIPTION:Auburn Symphony is thrilled to present its first ever\, FREE\, Family Concert! This program is perfect for the entire family to attend\, especially children aged 5-10. Over the course of 50 minutes\, listeners will be taken on an auditory and visual adventure through music! \nThe center-piece of the program is Sergi Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf\, a musical story about a young boy\, his many animal friends and a wolf who tries to spoil the day. Each instrument of the orchestra represents a character in this story which creates a perfect opportunity for young people to learn about the instruments of the orchestra. Joining Auburn Symphony for this program is Children’s Dance Theater who will be acting out the story with narration. \nThere are also a bunch of other musical works on the program that will take you on a grand adventure. In Leroy Anderson’s Old MacDonald you will hear an entire barnyard come to life! The Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg paints a beautiful sunrise in his music for the play Peer Gynt. You might see a herd of horses galloping across the stage in Gioachino Rossini’s William Tell Overture and you do not want to miss our orchestral performance of the hit-song of the year: Golden from the movie Kpop Demon Hunter! \nCome early and take part in our FREE activities for children in the lobby. There will be crafts to make\, games to play\, snacks and much more!
