SUMMARY:Seattle Fleet Week Maritime Celebration
DESCRIPTION:The spectacle known as the Seattle Fleet Week returns to Seafair once again. The celebration starts with the Parade of Ships through Elliott Bay followed by a week of events where the public is invited to meet the sailors and guardsmen\, enjoy free music\, and take ship tours. Seafair has hosted Fleet Week on the Seattle Waterfront since 1950 in celebration of the men and women who serve our country. \nThis year Seafair\, along with Boeing\, the Seattle Navy League\, and the Port of Seattle\, is proud to welcome the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. \nEvent schedule: \nParade of Ships: Seattle Waterfront \nJoin us at Pier 62 on July 21 as ships from the U.S. Coast Guard\, U.S. Navy\, and the Seattle Fire Department fire boat parade around Elliott Bay followed by docking and demonstrations at Pier 66. View the water-based parade from the Seattle waterfront and listen to the narration by tuning into 88.9 Logboom Radio (Mercer Island Highschool). \nThe Parade of Ships will be preceded by a Coast Guard Search and Rescue demonstration. \nPier 66 Free Ship Tours\nTour ships from the U.S Navy from July 22-23 (to be announced). Watch the ships depart on July 24. \nFleet Week Night at the Mariners\nCheer on the Mariners with sailors from the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy as they take on the Cincinnati Reds. \nNavy Band Northwest Performance\nMain stage at Seafair Weekend Festival. Remember that general admission is FREE on Friday courtesy of Windermere.
