In recognition of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD) on Feb.7 and Black History Month, join us for a virtual program featuring voices from the Black community exploring the power of storytelling, the impact of HIV and thoughtful ways to take action. Sharing our voices and stories can help put an end to the stigma around HIV/AIDS. Join us for a conversation with Seattle-area “artivists” (people who are artists + activists) who are living with HIV, as they discuss the power of honoring and expressing their personal stories. Their voices and actions will offer a glimpse into the lives of people impacted by HIV, and they will discuss ways we can overcome stigma. You will also hear from Rosette Royale, story-gathering consultant for the AIDS Memorial Pathway, along with special guests, as we work together to banish the stigma of HIV/AIDS.
This program is part of our current virtual exhibition, Through Positive Eyes: My Photo, My HIV Story, a travelling exhibition of photos and stories from 11 cities around the world, which has empowered more than 140 people living with HIV and AIDS to tell their stories using their own words and images.
