These commissions help shape decisions about habitat protection\, park design\, trail planning\, and long-term environmental stewardship. There are opportunities for both youth and adults and the commissions rely on community members to guide the way. \nEvent Details \nThis event will be held virtually via Zoom\, on Jan 15th from 7-8pm. \nThere will be a 30 minute talk followed by a 30 minute Q&A session. \nWhy Attend? \n\nExplore hands-on ways to advocate for local bird habitats\nLearn how city commissions work and why they need community voices\nConnect with others who care about conservation and public service\nFind opportunities suited for all ages and experience levels\n\nAbout the Speaker \nOur speaker\, Sayna Parsi\, is a dedicated conservation advocate and long-time Eastside Audubon supporter with experience collaborating with city governments on habitat preservation and parks planning. She currently serves on the commission for Parks\, Trails and Recreation in Redmond and she also serves on the board of Washington Native Plant Society. Sayna has guided city council members on bird walks that offer an insightful yet memorable way to connect with the environment. With a welcoming attitude and a passion for empowering new voices\, she helps others step into roles that support the places and species we all depend on. \nJoin us to learn how your passion\, your perspective\, and just a few hours a month can create better parks\, safer habitats\, and a brighter future for birds and people alike! \n
