VIRTUAL: What You Need to Know about COVID-19 Vaccines and Boosters for Children

Calendar/Event Details

Every child age 5 and older in Washington State can get the COVID-19 vaccine. Kids 12 and up are now eligible for a booster. Yet many parents and caregivers still have questions. How safe is the vaccine for children? What vaccine should I get and when should they get a booster? How is this impacting schools?

The panel of medical and education professionals will answer as many questions submitted in advance by the audience as possible and discuss:

- What caregivers need to know about COVID-19, the vaccine and how it affects children
- The latest guidance on the COVID-19 vaccines
- What you need to know about COVID-19 variants
- How Washington schools are adapting to the ever-changing situation
- The benefits of COVID-19 testing at schools
- How caregivers can talk to their children to address their concerns

- Onora Lien, Executive Director of Northwest Healthcare Response Network

- Dr. Tao Kwan-Gett, Chief Science Officer, Washington State Department of Health
- Chris Reykdal, Washington State’s Superintendent of Public Instruction
