The West Seattle Polar Bear Challenge is a scavenger hunt with a cause. Our mission: create joy for young and old over the holiday and inspire support for our West Seattle communities that need it most.
How can I get involved?

Go on a Polar Bear Scavenger Hunt. Find bears and bins around our “island” and at local businesses and donate food to the West Seattle Food Bank. Download Scavenger Hunt Checklist

Add a Polar Bear in your yard, window, or business. Big or small, the more the merrier!

Spread the word, spread the joy! The Polar Bear Challenge will take place 12/1/20 to 1/1/21.
Whether you take your family on a tour to see how many bears you can find, join the fun by placing a Polar Bear and/or a food contribution bin for the West Seattle Food Bank in your yard, or are inspired by the Polar Bears to shop or get take out locally, there are many ways you can be a part of the West Seattle Polar Bear Challenge.
On January 1, 2021, our Polar Bears will be down on Alki, the famous location of the Polar Bear Plunge, for one final opportunity to contribute to the West Seattle Food Bank.
