Our mission is to have a positive impact on children’s lives through lessons learned in the practice and study of karate. We teach a practical, effective, and sustainable tradition of martial arts style called Koei-Kan Karate-Do. We value meaningful relationships with each student based on mutual trust, and positive mentorship for kids. Instructors provide the tools and structure for kids to make thoughtful choices, to develop confidence, self-reliance and positive self-esteem through karate practice. Bellevue Karate Kids classes and programs engage children and teens through physically active games and skill building exercises. We focus on helping to keep them on the move and to “think” on their feet. The Koei-Kan Karate-Do system gives a true sense of personal growth without the emphasis on competition. We encourage parent participation in their child’s karate experience and learning. We provide mixed child/adult classes that allow the family to attend together. Does your child have a special need? Bellevue Karate Kids offers specialized classes for children who have been referred to Martial Arts by a specialist. Private, One-on-one lessons are available for any child when the need arises or ongoing. This type of training can help fill in skills that are in need of special attention or help a child further develop an area that he or she excels in. All sessions are tailored to help your child reach their full potential. The Bellevue Karate kids works with children ages 4-17 years. Most children become ready to start Karate between the ages of 5 and 8 years with some ready as early at 4 years. Koei-Kan is a lifestyle practice, one is never to old to begin. The Academy of Koei-Kan Karate-Do has been in Bellevue for 21 years and under the family ownership of Sharif and Tiffany Robles since January 2000.
