Highlands Elementary School is a culturally-rich community that is committed to helping each student achieve academic and personal excellence. Our teaching staff is highly qualified and we are continually learning and growing professionally in order to serve the needs of each student. We use a schoolwide Response to Intervention (RTI) system in our school to ensure that students receive academic instruction in reading and math that matches their academic levels and need. Students receive 90 minutes of instruction in reading each day with extended learning for students needing additional support. Students also receive a minimum of 60 minutes of math instruction with additional support as needed.
