Alki Elementary is a learning community like no other, beginning with two natural classrooms right outside our door: the old-growth forest of Schmitz Park and the marine wonderland of Alki Beach. In addition to our rigorous district academics, we provide a robust arts education, an integrated World Language program, and an experienced staff of highly dedicated teachers. Add to this an amazing amount of parent involvement, and you’ll discover a school that feels like a family. With many PTA-supported events and parent education opportunities, we think you’ll agree that Alki Elementary is a wonderful place to call home. Additionally, Alki has a collaborative partnership with Columbia Teachers College Reading and Writing Project. We implement the TCRWP units of study for reading and writing workshops. This collaboration allows us to utilize state of the art, research based pedagogy in literacy instruction.
