2015 Early Childhood Summer Program Join us at JDS this summer for days filled with friendship and fun! Children age 2½ to 5 are invited to campus to enjoy our beautiful Pacific Northwest summer. Weekly themes will be explored as children engage with the creative arts, the natural environment and their Jewish identity, using their curious minds to learn more about the world around them. Our JDS Early Childhood Summer Program provides a unique opportunity for young children to explore, discover and connect. All Early Childhood Summer Program participants must be toilet trained. Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Cost: $300 per week ($275 if registered by April 1st) Weekly Themes 6/29 – 7/3 Way Up In The Sky It’s a bird! It’s a plane! What is flying up there in the sky? Join us this week as we explore the world above. Children will make and fly kites, learn about our feathered friends, spend time cloud-gazing and prepare for July 4th fireworks. Soar to new heights with us during Way Up In The Sky! 7/6 – 7/10 Creepy Crawlies Dig deep into the world of insects, arachnids and worms as we play in the dirt this week. We will explore these animals, their environments and their impact on the world around us. Buzz on over for some fun during this week’s Creepy Crawlies program! 7/13 – 7/17 The Olympic Games Journey around the world with us as we try out sports and games of all kinds. The Summer and Winter Olympic games will both be represented as we run races, jump high and even try out summer skiing. A torch will be lit and medals awarded this week during The Olympic Games! 7/20 – 7/24 Crafts and Creations What will you make with recycled materials of all kinds, yarn, paint, sparkles and more? The possibilities are endless as we use our imaginations to create trinkets and treasures. Engineers, artists and designers - this week’s Crafts and Creations program is for you! 7/27 – 7/31 Amazing Animals Deep in the jungle, under the sea and even curled up at the foot of your bed - animals are all around us. Join us for a virtual visit to see lions on the savannah, polar bears in the Arctic and dolphins crashing through the waves. Discover a new favorite animal this week during Amazing Animals. 8/3 – 8/7 Be A Chef Join us for a week of tasty kitchen creations. We will mix and measure yummy treats and traditional favorites for sharing. Kitchen safety and solid nutritional practices will guide us as children cook up a storm this week during Be A Chef. 8/10 – 8/14 You’ve Got To Move It! Dance, jump, balance and climb as we focus on getting our bodies moving this week. Children can try out an obstacle course, yoga, or run a relay race as they find new and interesting ways to move their bodies. Turn up that workout music this week during You’ve Got To Move It! 8/17 – 8/21 Beach Party Join the party in the sand and the sun! Build castles, throw beach balls and splash the days away as we make the most of summertime. Every good party needs some music, so help us create the perfect soundtrack this week at Beach Party – an end of summer blowout!
