Throughout the school year, Marissa teaches at various preschools and elementary schools in the Seattle area including McDonald International, The Meridian School, Perkins School, BF Day, New Discovery School, Sweet Pea Cottage, View Ridge Elementary and more. During SPS Spring Break and in the Summer, World Dance Camps are held in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, WA. Class Description In class children experience a variety of music and dance styles that may include traditional Guinean (African), Hip Hop, Irish Step, Brazilian, Hawaiian Hula, Armenian & Greek Folk, Bollywood, Cuban Salsa, American Indian and more. Elements of Creative Dance and Movement are combined with cultural dances in each class. Through developing and strengthening movement skills children build a foundation for their own expression of dance. Stories, books, photos, videos, songs, instruments and dress-up related to the cultural dances being studied are often a part of the children's cultural experience. In addition, World Dance gives back a percentage of profits to support school children in West Africa.
