French, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish Language Camps for Parent and Preschooler, students ages 7-12, and for older kids, we encourage them to apply for Counselor in Training (CIT) positions. Founded in 1996, NWLA is a non-profit organization providing innovative resources for people of all ages to learn new languages and better understanding diverse cultures as community becomes global. Now in their 20th year, NWLA Language Day Camps allow students to explore a country's culture while learning the language with lasting results. Campers enjoy a week filled with all the joys of summer camp in a picturesque natural setting, while being exposed to another language through a variety of activities that include games, music, sports, tasting ethnic foods, dance, drama, arts, and crafts. The week culminates with the presentation of an original play to the community. Enjoy Whidbey Island while your child is at camp! The NWLA Cultural Center Guesthouse offers onsite accommodations for campers and their families on 3 acres of landscaped grounds. With Langley’s beaches, organic farms, artist studios, restaurants, and shops a 5 minute walk away, the fun doesn’t have to end with the day’s activities! For off-island families or parents just looking for a change of scene, our lushly planted patios and comfortable rooms are perfect place for a restful family getaway.
