Dr. Elena Aleksandrova has committed life and love to music—performing and teaching others to play piano with skill and passion. Elena brings to every lesson a detailed and exhaustive knowledge of musical performance including piano technique, the principles of music theory and the dramatic arts. Elena began her teaching career in 1989 as a piano instructor at the Government Music School in Western Europe and has since held positions as an opera studio lecturer and concertmaster in twelve Russian music theaters and state conservatories. Elena has penned several academic works on the history and philosophy of musical theatre, including eight articles and the recently published Russian monograph Directing with the Chorus. Teaching piano is Elena’s true passion. In institutions throughout Europe she has studied solo piano and music composition and theory with a special focus on piano pedagogy and children’s education. She graduated summa cum laude and received a master’s degree from the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory in Russia.
