Book Drive by a Child for a Child

Recurring Event (See all)

I am an 11-year-old student and am doing a book drive in Magnolia; Seattle and I would really love your help with it!

Books have always been my happy place, a place for knowledge and inspiration and honestly, I think they are kind of magical. So, this year when I was thinking about my New Year’s resolution, I kept coming back to the same thought: not every kid gets to grow up with books like I did, and that didn’t feel right to me.
So, I decided to do something about it.

From February through end of April, I am running a book drive right here in Magnolia, Seattle! I am working with Books for Africa to get books to kids across the continent, and with Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation so that Native American kids closer to home can get books too. The Magnolia Library and the Queen Anne Community Center are also helping me by keeping my donation bins and serving as drop-off locations, which is really cool because it makes it super easy for people in the neighborhood to donate. It is truly a community effort.

I really believe that something as simple as being kind and giving a kid a book can make a difference. It has made a huge difference in my life, and I just want other kids to feel that too.

I would be really very grateful if you would consider donating book(s) for this cause. Every little bit helps and it would mean so much to me to get more books into the hands of kids who need them.

Thank you so much for reading this. I really hope you can join me on this mission!
