Elizabeth Sharda

I am an Associate Professor of Social Work at a small, private liberal arts college in Michigan. I am also a licensed social worker who practiced primarily in the field of child welfare before joining academia. I teach courses in Macro Social Work Practice, Diverse Populations, and Childhood Trauma. My areas of research include social support, parenting stress and belonging.

I was also a licensed foster parent for 15 years and am an adoptive parent, roles that greatly inform my research interests. Currently, I enjoy reading and writing about community care and its application to parenting.
