Each box contains three books (board and sensory books) with topics focused on family. You can order a one-time box, or sign up to receive a box once a month for 3, 6 or 12 months.

Literati
You’ll receive five books monthly; keep what you like and send back what you don’t. They offer a babies and toddlers box for ages 0–4.
Cost: The $9.95 monthly membership fee does not cover the cost of any books you choose to keep. You will be billed for any books you don’t return 14 days after your shipment is received.
Bookroo
You’ll receive three books per box, and thanks to their uniform height and coordinating cover colors, they will look beautiful on your shelves in between readings. You can also interact with the digital platform to learn more about authors and illustrators, take quizzes, get personalized recommendations, etc. The Board Book Club is intended for ages 0–3.

Phinney by Post Kids
Looking for a local option? Phinney Books, located in North Seattle, is owned by a local “Jeopardy” champion. The store mails out one picture book each month, and the target audience is ages 0–5. Books are selected based on an appeal to the whole age range. These books come nicely wrapped in the mail and make a great gift for new parents.
Cost: You can receive a book every month or every other (“Twelve” or “Six”) options. The Twelve Plan, $240 and the Six Plan, $130 (a one-time payment for each). If you are local and want to pick up your books at the store rather than get them in the mail, you will receive $40 off the Twelve Plan, or $20 off the Six Plan.
Toy subscription boxes

Wooden, plastic, educational — so many options! The following toy-focused subscription boxes promise developmentally appropriate entertainment for your little ones every step of the way.
Lovevery
Each kit provides developmentally appropriate, stage-based play essentials for tots and toddlers. The Play Kits are tailored for babies ages 0–12 all the way up to 4 years. Baby kits ship every two months.
Cost: Kits for babies ages 0–12 months cost $80 (per kit) and ship every two months. Kits for kids older than 12 months ship every three months and cost $120 per kit.
KiwiCo, Panda Crate
Subscribers receive a box filled with projects appropriate for your child’s development stage every other month. The Panda Crate is designed for babies ages 0–24 months. In addition to projects, the kit also includes activity cards (with tips on how to use your crate), Wonder Magazine and ideas for activities beyond the crate. My children received various Kiwi crates for years and loved them.

This unique option is more like a toy rental program, which is great for those of us with limited space, or for anyone who wants to minimize the collection of stuff. Simply play with the toys you receive (two in each shipment, which you select) as long as you want, then send them back and receive a new batch.
Cost: The price varies depending on the subscription you choose. One month only is $29.95; a 12-month subscription is $12.50 per month.
Lalo Play Box
Play Boxes are designed for children 0–2 years old and there are 10 boxes in total. You can sign up to receive a one-time box, or to receive boxes on a regular basis (every 2–3 months). Each box contains high quality toys made from non-toxic, BPA free, Earth-friendly materials. The company also offers a recycling program, allowing you to easily return toys after you child outgrows them. Hello Bello
Pick the diaper size you need, then choose up to seven cute patterns, add up to five additional items (swim diapers, hand sanitizer spray, lip balm, baby lotion, vitamins, etc.) and you’ve made a bundle! It will ship to you every three, four or five weeks, whichever works for you. The number of diapers per bundle varies by size, you can find more info on the website. Fun fact: Actors Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are two of Hello Bello’s co-founders.
Cost: In each bundle, you will receive seven packs of diapers and four packs of wipes for $79.99. If you selected any add-on products, they will be an additional price, but you’ll receive 15 percent off by including them in a bundle.
Honest
You’ll receive seven packs of diapers, four packs of wipes and 15 percent off add-on products (diaper rash cream, body wash, etc.). You can add items to just one shipment without changing your ongoing bundle. The amount of diapers per pack varies by size (for example, 35 diapers per pack in size 1; 27 for size 3; 18 for size 6). The bundle will ship monthly, but you can change the frequency after you create an account.

Parasol
These diapers have a special RashShield protection for sensitive skin that helps prevent diaper rash. The company’s VIP membership includes three packs of diapers, four packs of wipes and two Friend Gift Packs. You don’t get to pick your diaper prints with this option, you get what you get. The service offers a $5 diaper sample (eight diapers) so that you can give their product a try, but it’s important to note that if you order the sample you’ll be automatically enrolled in the VIP membership program 15 days later (unless you cancel).
Cost: Three packs of diapers and four packs of wipes for $84. Members save 20 percent on other products. Ships monthly.
Baby Diaper Service (eco friendly disposal diapers and collection of used diapers for recycling)
This one is more of a subscription bag than a box. Baby Diaper Service delivers eco friendly disposal diapers and then collects the soiled one to be recycled through their partnership with a Waste to Energy center. Simply drop the used diapers in the provided lined hamper, then set them out on pickup day. Like magic, they are replaced with clean diapers. Service is available in Seattle and on the Eastside; Olympia to Bellingham; and the Key Peninsula to North Bend.
Cost: You can select the number of diapers you have delivered. For a new baby, they recommend starting with one case per week (28 diapers per package, four packages in a case for a total of 112 diapers). Cases range from $52–$60.
The service fee is $51 every four weeks. This includes weekly delivery and pick up at your home, four bio bags per billing cycle and the Waste to Energy recycling program.
Diaper Stork (cloth and disposal diaper service)
Diaper Stork offers a reusable cloth diaper service where the diaper washing is done for you. Weekly pickup and delivery service is available to customers in the Seattle Metro area, from Tacoma to Everett to the Eastside.
You can choose between all cloth delivery, or half cloth and half compostable, disposable diapers. The service includes a diaper pail, pail liner, and cloth diapers. You can add on cloth wipes for an additional charge, and diaper covers (which you need for cloth diapers) are also available for rent. Diaper Stork currently offers their services in the Seattle metro area from Olympia to Everett and the East side.

Clothes subscription boxes

Babies grow so fast that it sometimes feels like they barely get a chance to wear something before it’s too small. These subscription boxes will help ensure that there is something fun to wear in your baby’s ever-changing size.
Stitch Fix
I’ve been getting boxes from Stich Fix for years and love them. The style is exactly what I like (thanks for the style quiz), the prices are reasonable and it’s simple to return unwanted items. Now kids can get a Stich Fix box too! Kids styles are stocked in sizes 2T–18 and kids get their very own style quiz. There is a $20 styling fee with each box, which is put toward any item you decided to purchase.
Cost: There is a $20 styling fee per box, you pay individually for each item you decide to keep (returns are free). Keep the whole box and you’ll get 25 percent off.
The Dopple
Start by taking a style quiz, including brand preferences and budget. Then Dopple will put together a curated box of clothes for your child based on your responses. Boxes (called Drops) are delivered quarterly, but you can request or postpone a shipment at any time. Keep what you like, send back what doesn’t work.
Cost: There is a $10 nonrefundable service fee for each Drop, which is credited toward anything you purchase. The rest of the cost is dependent on how many items you choose to keep (returns are always free).
Surprisly
Three outfits for your baby (for sleep, play and going out) are delivered monthly. There are not too many choices with this option. You simply select the age of your baby and if you’d like clothes that are geared toward a boy, girl or gender neutral, and that’s it.
Cost: Prices vary depending on the subscription you choose. Month-to-month cost is $69 per box; three months, $65; six months, $63. All plans automatically renew on the first of the month, until you cancel.
Rent-a-Romper
Babies grow in the blink of an eye, and it is so easy to quickly find yourself with a drawer (or two or three …) of clothing that no longer fits. This service can help empty those drawers, at least a little bit. Simply select the capsule you want, take a quick style quiz and answer a few questions, and then your first box is on the way. You keep the clothing for as long as you want, and when you are ready to exchange it, fill out a swap form online. Nurture Life
Families love Nurture Life for the variety of meals and the convenience of receiving them fully cooked: meals are ready to serve in just one minute. From finger food to smoothies to simple meals for toddlers, you are bound to find something your kids will enjoy. Meals and snacks are all made from organic veggies, antibiotic-free proteins and whole grains.
