Plants Without Seeds? Mosses, Ferns & More – Discovery Park

Saturday, March 14 @ 1 p.m.–3 p.m.

Join a Seattle Park Naturalist to explore the glorious mosses, ferns and lichens that cover the forest floor and canopy of the Pacific NW forest. Take a close look and learn about how these plants reproduce by spores? This hike in Discovery Park will invite you to peer closely at the marvelous variety of mosses, liverworts, ferns (and more) that put the green in “evergreen,” and learn some of their surprising secrets. We will spend a lot of time low to the ground, possibly in light rain. Feel free to bring a nature journal or your favorite hand lens.
