Quiet Beauty: Plants in Winter

Sunday, Feb. 8 @ 1 p.m.–2:30 p.m.

Join a Seattle Parks Naturalist and dip your toe back into nature. The long dark is slowly receding, the rain gentler. This winter walk will explore how plants reveal their identities. And YES, you can tell plants apart even without leaves–we’ll give you some clues! We’ll spark a story as we stroll and send you home with a free native plant to brighten your spring. After the walk, warm up with hot tea, cocoa, and cookies. We will be traversing short level pathways (maybe muddy). Travel distance: 1/2 mile.

Meet at the Carkeek Park admin building – your first right as you enter the park, across from the Environmental Learning Center.
