Seward Park is home to at least eight kinds of Japanese flowering cherries, as well as a few other varieties, a legacy that goes back to a visit from Japanese diplomats in 1929. Cherries bloom in or near the park from mid-February to early May.
Join Paul Talbert of the Friends of Seward Park by the Seward Park Audubon Center to learn about the various kinds cherries and other Japanese cultural gifts in the park. Dress for the weather and be prepared to walk around the park entrance area.
