Birds and Beaks…How Birds Fill the Bill

Saturday, March 28 @ 1 p.m.–2:30 p.m.

Join our Director, Suzanne Harkness, as she presents a kid-friendly class. She will show close-up photos of bird beaks, describe how they are unique, and how birds use them like specialty utensils we use. Kids will get to “practice” how pelicans, hummingbirds and woodpeckers find food and learn why it is important to protect their food resources. There is a simple worksheet available for kids to learn how to connect birds to the kind of foods they eat based on beak shape.
