Dr Anastasia Hronis is a clinical psychologist, author, and lecturer. Anastasia works across both clinical practice and academia. Her main areas of research are in addictions, gambling, and intellectual disabilities. She is the author of the best selling book, The Dopamine Brain, published with Penguin Random House Aus & NZ in Sept 2024. The book unpacks the neuroscience behind dopamine and forming healthy habits. It is currently being transalted into eight other languages and sold around the world.
Anastasia completed a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney and a Master of Clinical Psychology degree at the University of Technology Sydney. She has completed her PhD in the area of mental health treatments for children with disabilities.
As a concert pianist, she has performed as a soloist at the Sydney Opera House seven times, as well as having performed at Carnegie Hall, New York.
