Technology promised to transform learning. But as screens have steadily crept into nearly every aspect of education, many parents are asking whether schools have gone too far – and how they can push for less tech in the classroom.

Emily Cherkin, M.Ed., a former teacher and nationally recognized speaker known as The Screentime Consultant, joins us for a timely ParentMap Talks session to help parents take a closer look at technology’s growing role in their children’s education. As a parent of teens who opted out of the student laptop, Emily brings a unique blend of professional expertise and personal experience to the conversation. She’ll help you understand how schools use technology, recognize when it’s getting in the way of learning and know how to speak up when something feels off..

You’ll learn:

  • How schools are using EdTech today
  • Signs that tech is interfering with learning
  • Essential questions to ask your child’s school
  • How to advocate for your child’s learning

Whether you’re wondering how much technology is too much or simply want to be more informed and engaged in your child’s education, this talk is for you. Reserve your spot for the live Zoom Talk and get access to the recording to watch anytime.
