Would your kids like to meet the "real" Daniel Tiger? They're in luck! Daniel Tiger is doing another meet-and-greet tour of Washington this August and your family can meet him — and snap a photo with him — all for free.
Local public television station KCTS 9 invites families to RSVP for free "Be My Neighbor Days" taking place this August in Yakima, Bellingham and Bellevue.
Daniel Tiger is a beloved character and star of the PBS Kids show "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood." The show is a spin-off of the iconic public television show "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood."
How to meet Daniel
Ready to register to meet Daniel Tiger? Be My Neighbor Days are free and open to the public, but you must follow a couple of specific steps to attend. Here's what you need to know and do:
- You must RSVP for a specific time slot for a specific Be My Neighbor Day — see date and location details below. RSVP links "open" on Saturday, July 27, at 10 a.m. To be sure to get a time slot, we encourage you to set a reminder and be ready at 10 a.m. — Daniel has a lot of fans! No walk-ups will be admitted; you must register in advance. One RSVP admits your whole family.
- Bring at least one non-perishable food bank donation item per person.
Even though timed-entry tickets should help reduce wait times, families should still plan on waiting in line outside. Don't forget water, hats and sunscreen and perhaps an umbrella for shade, camp chairs or some small toys or games to help with the wait.
Yakima Be My Neighbor Day: Monday, Aug. 12, 2–6 p.m.
