A new T&T Supermarket opens in Lynnwood this Thursday (Nov. 13), just in time for Thanksgiving menu planning. The beloved Asian grocery chain, known for its dazzling seafood, baked treats and hard-to-find pantry staples, brings a second Puget Sound location to local families eager for a taste of something new.
I took my kids to scour the aisles of the Bellevue location in preparation for this week’s opening day in Lynnwood. We went in search of goodies for our upcoming holiday festivities, and we walked out with big armfuls of grocery bags — and some insider tips on what to buy to save you some time and level up your go-to menu.
What is T&T?
Founded in 1993, T&T Supermarket is Canada’s largest Asian grocery chain, celebrated for connecting families to their roots through food. When the first U.S. store opened in Bellevue in December 2024, the excitement was palpable; crowds lined up for hours to explore its 76,000-square-foot aisles of produce, seafood and baked goods.
The new Lynnwood store is roughly half that size but still boasts an impressive 30,000 square feet of fresh produce, live seafood, frozen meals, pastries and snacks, more than enough to spark inspiration for your holiday menu. It’s easy to lose track of time meandering the endless rows of delicious offerings.
And meander, we did. My shopping list included pork dumplings with vegetables, do-it-yourself hot pot meals, ramen, and fresh fruits and vegetables. But the kids and I found so much beyond that to love.
What my family loves most
Fresh seafood
I was absolutely blown away by the seafood selection. The diverse offerings gave me endless ideas for new recipes, and my kids loved watching the fish, crabs and eels swimming around in the tanks.
Baked treats
The bakery was by far my favorite section of the store. T&T’s bakery serves up over 150 delicious goodies, like flaky Portuguese egg tarts, soft Hong Kong-style buns and sweet mango cake, all perfect for sharing with friends and family. The pistachio cheesecakes and roll cakes, and pumpkin treats (rolls, mousse, even a pudding) would add fun variety served next to your traditional pumpkin pie.
Produce
The produce aisles are bursting with colorful fruits and vegetables, some of which were an exciting new experience for my kids (durian, lychee, daikon anyone?). We bought yu choy and acorn squash for side dishes, and fresh fruit for a charcuterie board.
Meat and fish
If you’re in the mood for something more savory, you might decide to grab Chinese barbecue from the carving counter or fresh-made sushi. From turkey to duck, wagyu beef or pork — whatever you’re looking for, you’re likely to find it here.
