Tracy Romoser enjoys a good tech and science story. Originally from Flint, Michigan, Tracy grew up in a family of engineers, artists and automakers where dismantling small appliances and rebuilding cars were considered rites of passage. She’s always been fascinated by how things work and feels lucky to have been born in a time when parents encouraged bored kids to just think about stuff.
This background helped her along in a variety of newsroom roles in radio and TV, eventually leading to writing about technology. She landed an early role on the Bing homepage editorial team where she spent the better part of a decade writing and managing content programs and learning how search engines work. Tracy was also a communications officer at a global health organization, developing stories about digital health systems and the scientists behind new health innovations.
But after three years, the tech world called her back. One of her recent roles was on a team that developed a digital security app for individuals and families. She’s also written security articles to help people keep their digital lives and personal data secure, tasks that are increasingly more important in the era of artificial intelligence.
