Honor and celebrate Tibetan art and culture at Tibet Fest at Seattle Center Aug. 9–10. This year's festival embraces the theme “Year of Compassion” in honor of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday.
This free, family-friendly event features two days of dynamic dance performances by artists from the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, as well as student groups from the local Tibetan Language & Culture School. Attendees will enjoy traditional and contemporary Tibetan music, food, art, and storytelling in an atmosphere of cultural pride and community.
Festival highlights include:
• A rare exhibit of Tibetan artifacts curated by the Burke Museum
• The Dalai Lama’s 90th Birthday Collection, on loan from the Office of Tibet
• Handcrafted goods, artisan wares, and delicious food
