Where: Seward Park, we will gather at the bathrooms near the Audubon Center.
Accessibility: Parking lots and street parking available (although it can be busy on weekends!). Seward Park is served by bus route 50 with a stop at Seward Park Avenue South and South Juneau Street. Wheelchair accessible, as well as strollers, kid bikes, scooters, etc. We will be walking on flat paved trails, likely walking between 1/2–3/4 mile with lots of stops, walking at the children's pace. Public bathrooms available at the Audubon Center.
What to expect: Open to all babies, toddlers and kids. All children must be accompanied by an adult. We will gather at the Audubon Center and walk north and east toward the swimming beach on the paved perimeter trail (Shore Loop Road). We will practice observing birds with our eyes and ears and look for mallard ducks, Canada geese, buffleheads, crows, chickadees, juncos and more on a short walk.
We will take a snack, story and/or look-at-interesting-rocks break somewhere in the middle depending on the pacing and interest level of the kids. Please no adults not accompanied by a child. Please no dogs.
