The centerpiece of BIMA’s Día de los Muertos festival is a traditional ofrenda—a colorful, multi-paneled altar designed and created by artist Araceli Cruz. Rooted in Mexican cultural traditions, the ofrenda offers a sacred space for remembrance, storytelling, and connection. Guests are invited to contribute photographs, notes, and small tokens in honor of departed friends, family members, and ancestors, transforming the installation into a living, collective memorial.
The ofrenda will be on view and open to the public daily during museum hours (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) from November 1–16. All are welcome to participate in this beautiful act of remembrance.
