Mukai Farm & Garden’s 7th Annual Haiku Festival once again brings the timeless beauty of haiku (俳句) to Vashon Island. In past years, the festival has welcomed hundreds of submissions and inspired poets and readers from around the world.
This year’s categories:
-Mukai Centennial – reflections on the 100-year history, legacy, or landscape of Mukai Farm & Garden
-Food – inspired by the restoration of the Fruit Barreling Plant and the future Vashon Food Hub
-Young Poets – youth entries (ages 1–12 and 13–18)
A selection of submitted haiku will be displayed throughout the grounds of Mukai Farm & Garden beginning April 26 at 2 PM, on view through May. Join us for the opening viewing and experience poetry in the garden.
