The Marketplace at Factoria welcomes the Year of the Dragon with a jubilant Lunar New Year celebration on Saturday, February 10th, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
During the celebration, the Mak Fai Kung Fu Club will present performances of their Lion Dance and Dragon Shows starting in South Court near Target and continuing throughout the center (performances begin at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.). There will also be a live Chinese Guzheng musical performance by Shirley Wang Phung and the Seattle Guzheng Academy in Center Court near Panera (performance takes place from 2 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
In addition, the center will have a dedicated Lunar New Year pop-up visual sets next to Funtastic Emporium; colorful displays will be open from February 7th through March 6th and will include a regal red wall with a gold gazebo, cherry blossoms and lanterns, and two additional walls adorned with red and gold fans, a gold dragon and a “Happy Lunar New Year” message, the perfect spot for families to take photos together.
These events and activities are free and open to the public; no pre-registration is required.
