Maritime Music at the Ballard Branch Library

Sunday, Oct. 25 @ 2 p.m.–4 p.m.

FREE CONCERT! Libraries are for books, community, history… and sea chanteys! We’re bringing the acclaimed international duo Tania Opland and Mike Freeman to the library to give a Sunday afternoon concert. Come and listen and even sing along! *Tania Opland & Mike Freeman are the world’s leading purveyors of “Anglo-Alaskan acoustic world music,” performing songs and tunes from or inspired by americana, eurofolk, early music, and global influences. They sing and play their wide-ranging repertoire with more instruments than any sane duo would travel with – hammered dulcimer, violin, hurdy-gurdy, clárseach (wire-strung harp), recorder, guitar, djembe, and whatever else can be squeezed into the car.*
