Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival

The Mercer Island Chinese Association (MICA), in partnership with the City of Mercer Island, invites the community to celebrate this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival together on Sunday, September 20, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center. The Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.

With generous support from 4Culture and the Mercer Island Community Fund, this annual celebration brings together families from across the region to experience the traditions and joy of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

This year’s event will again feature amazing live cultural performances, including traditional dance, musical instruments, and kung fu demonstrations, as well as family-friendly carnival games and a selection of specialty food and beverages.

In addition, two exciting elements will further enrich the experience:

A Community Resource Fair, highlighting organizations that offer Chinese language learning opportunities for children and provide services to seniors and families in both English and Chinese.
A deeper focus on traditional arts and crafts, with hands-on activities such as calligraphy, lacquer fan making, textile dyeing, embroidery, sugar painting, and paper cutting.
