In partnership with Edmonds School District Native Education, Edmonds Center for the Arts invites you to a free Orange Shirt Day Community Workshop, a special event to honor the children impacted by Indian boarding schools.
Decorate orange shirts in remembrance and learn the meaning behind this powerful symbol. Hear an Indigenous elder share her family’s personal story and experiences with the boarding school system. This intergenerational workshop provides space for families to decorate orange shirts in reflection and solidarity. Shirts may be worn by students across the district in October as part of Orange Shirt Day, raising awareness and honoring the resilience of Native communities.
